I had such a positive experience at the library, all thanks to CJ! I came in right before closing to pick up some reserved books for kids, and despite the tight timing, CJ was incredibly helpful and efficient. She quickly located all the books I needed, patiently dealt with a technical issue on the library’s laptop during check-in, and even took the time to offer some great recommendations for other children’s books. Her kindness, knowledge, and calm attitude made the whole experience so smooth and enjoyable. Huge thanks to CJ for going above and beyond!

Place is very quiet, disciplined and having a positive atmosphere… Especially today I met with a staff member Terra is so humble , polite n kind women … she helps me alot , which filled my heart with gratitude…thanks Terra

This library is a complete disappointment for anyone seeking a quiet, respectful environment to read or study. Despite having designated “silent” areas, the place is consistently noisy—people openly watch videos on their phones or laptops without using headphones, and somehow, no one thinks that’s a problem. The library staff turn a blind eye to the chaos, especially when it comes to groups of teenagers treating the space like a social club. There’s a shocking lack of common sense among the patrons—many sit right next to others and talk loudly, often about things that have absolutely nothing to do with studying. It’s clear that a significant number of people come here just to hang out, not to use the library for its intended purpose. What’s worse is the staff’s inaction, which essentially encourages this behavior. If you’re looking for a calm, quiet place to read, study, or work, this is not the place for you. Frankly, it’s a waste of public resources and tax money when a library fails to uphold even the most basic standards of decorum and silence.

I really like this library. The librarians are all friendly and helpful. The resources are…resourceful. It’s spacious, has a nice layout, and lots of meeting rooms. The book selections are varied and the CDs/Cassettes collections are quite to my taste. The only thing I’d say is that the front displays are often quite political and far-far-left leaning.

I honestly used to love this library so much. Out of all the libraries from Oak Ridges—Bradford, this has the most seating & parking to accommodate many persons & it's also the closest to me. I have used this space almost weekly for about 6 years, from high school to college. I'm not sure if it's the new generation of teenagers with no consideration for others or a lack of reform on the library's end... This library has a beautiful design but needs some work with new sound barriers in mind...That being said, I recommend NOT coming around 11-1 or 2-5 due to the loud environment from the surrounding high school students. Even in the quiet zone, and with noise-cancelling headphones, they do not use their indoor voices, and there are too many of them for the librarians to deal with. I know this is a public space, but people like myself come to the library to get work done and have a quiet and studious work environment with minimal distractions. This shouldn't be a lunchtime or entertainment centre, as there are other places to go that would allow screaming, blasting music, and throwing items at eachother ... etc. I'm sorry for leaving a bad review, but something needs to change around here, as this isn't the first complaint. Please note: the actual staff in the library are doing their best and are kind, patient, and helpful. But this matter needs to be addressed to people higher up to help shape this Bradford Community Library into a better centre for it's intended use.

I love the library and need to respond to this recent post by Mr. Jeremy Johns. Sir, your opinions are your own but they are not accurate. After seeing your profile picture, I asked my young daughter if you were the person harassing her and her friend at the library and she said yes. You approached two underaged girls and asked if you could talk to them. Number 1, this is not appropriate. When they said they were just leaving, you continued following them talking about God. I called the library and they knew who you were right away. My daughter and her friend were very upset and felt unsafe. She also told me many students of BDHS avoid you in the library because you make them uncomfortable. Plus, I’ve spoken to Ms Cunniff in the past and she’s very mild mannered and always kind and pleasant. You are in the wrong here and should not be approaching people to push your religious views. Especially young vulnerable teenagers. The library is supposed to be a safe space for these kids, not a place to be followed and harassed by a stranger.

It was a good library until they took all of the magazines off the shelf. Since covid they remain off the shelf and the computer room has been closed. I'd like to hear an explanation...no other library in York Region or Toronto has these policies!

We now have laptops that you can borrow and use anywhere within the library, so you are no longer limited to one room and one spot. These laptops connect wirelessly to the printers so you can still print as well. We have moved from print magazines to electronic magazines so now multiple people can "borrow" the same issue at the same time. I hope this addresses your concerns.
