Food had my stomach all satisfied, portion size was good. Ordered jerk pork meal, it was more like jerk pulled pork. Had nice flavour. The owner Dave succeeds in making your visit feel like you are at "Cheers, where everybody knows your name"; he is charismatic, friendly and inviting. We had a blast, so many laughs! Thank you for the good time and the comfort food.
Big momma's soul food has some of the best Carribean food in the area! I recently tried the curry chicken and it was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor! Highly recommend!
The jerk chicken is phenomenal. They also bbq smoke the chicken certain evenings. However, the prices are way too high for what you get. I got a Large jerk chicken dinner and there was only one piece (thigh and drumstick) in there. Everywhere else that is considered a small. I’ve been priced out lol
Big Momma's definitely has soul food. Chicken and Ox Tail fell off the bone, seasoned and spiced with just the right amount of pepper. Authentic and delicious.
Found this place by chance while in the area. The food was tasty. yes the portion could be bigger for some people but honestly, sometimes you pay more for less at other places. I liked the jerk chicken more than the jerk pork, but it was tasty and full of flavour. The service from Dave was impeccable. I'd definitely stop by again because Dave made us feel welcomed at his establishment.
It has been a couple years since I've been here . But I was a regular customer for over 10 years before I moved away. I remember $2 Tuesdays. That's how long I've been going . ( aged my self). The food is proper and the staff and owners treat you life fam.
First time I went there 5yrs back I literally heard the microwave in the kitchen. That was the last time I went there. Try any restaurant at Keele/Lawrence/Eglinton ... You won't go back to this one again.
